Fantastic holiday. Weather was brilliant. There is only one bad point though, & I hate to mention it ......... the thought of coming home. I just did not want to leave & cannot wait to go back. I have definitely caught the camping bug. The staff, facilities & area are second to none. The town of Kirkby Lonsdale is beautiful & the area around the park, full of wildlife. We have just returned from a 6 day stay at Woodclose, staying in a wigwam! The wigwams are basic but ideal if you don't fancy pitching the tent after a long drive. You will still have the fun of camping but without the worry of a dry tent! The site is very peaceful and relaxing with beautiful views. The shower / toilet (wet room style) facilities are the best we have ever seen, exceptionally clean and with loads of room. The staff are very proud of their park and quite rightly so. There is a small shop that stocks basic supplies and a Booths supermarket can be found in the town. Kirkby Lonsdale is a lovely town and is just a short walk from the park. Avanti in the town serves fresh pizza and a very fresh pint of beer. This is an excellent base for exploring the Lakes with Windermere only 20 minutes by car. Make sure you go on a boat trip across the Lakes the views are amazing. Also it is worth going to Coniston if only for the winding road and an exhilarating drive!

Just got back from wigwam 5 this was are seconded year of staying hear and was fantastic yet again staff and others campers was so welcoming and helpful. All showers and toilets was spotless and warm. We had some lovely walks down to devils bridge and the local town. This is a wonderful site in a lovely area.We found this site a few years ago now, and regularily return,if we can get in that is, as it is very popular and no wonder.Friendly,helpful staff,wonderful showers, and a great laundry room with spinner that is so useful when you're trying to dry washing if the weather is against you.Excellent site.

Wonderful stay at Woodclose Park. Really friendly site with excellent/clean facilities. We took our campervan and had a small hard standing pitch with electric hook up and water. The walk into town was approx 10 mins but quite steep for about 100 metres - wear flattish shoes and take a torch if dark. In Kirkby itself there are approx 6 good eating places. We went to Platos and it was lovely. The pubs are friendly and close to each other and fairly busy on a Saturday evening.

We stayed at Woodclose for our first touring caravan holiday, and it was a real pleasure, so much we have already booked to return, the welcome was warm and we were helped onto our pitch which helped greatly as this was our first time, the surrounding areas were fantastic, only a short drive to the lakes, which we paid a visit whilst here, also Kirby Lonsdale is a super little place, we found a lovely coffee shop to sit outside with our 2 doggies and enjoyed a cream scone. The site itself is perfect, all very well maintained and wonderful warm and friendly people to chat to, the toilet/shower block was a highlight of our stay, i enjoyed so much the individual shower / toilet cubicles or should I say rooms, they are massive, definatley a step up from our camping days, all in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay. thank you Woodclose, see you soon. Woodclose is an absolute gem of a site! We went wigwam with two small boys and it was fantastic. So family friendly, yet peaceful!!!!! Excellent facilities and carefully thought out pitches, with the lovely Kirkby Lonsdale only a short stroll away. The staff look after you 110% and you get the warmest welcome when you arrive. If you are thinking about booking, think no more - book now! We can't wait to come back!

Our first touring van for over 15 years, so a little apprehensive at first but need not have been, for us this site ticks "all" the boxes!!. It is a credit to its owners. Facilities are brilliant, well stocked shop, beautiful surroundings, immaculate grounds, excellent dog walks which was a plus for us with three rough collies in tow!!. Recently stayed there for 5 nights in a tent, had a fantastic time, theres a mixture of statics, caravans,motorhomes ,wigwams and tents. from start to finish staff were very helpful, showers (wetrooms) with sink and toilet were spotless plenty hot water, never had to queue, the toilets were the same.plenty of places to visit close by. if going out for a meal would highly recommend the Plough which is a short drive away, food and service was excellent . would definetly go back to this campsite .

Great walk along the riverbank to the outskirts of the village with open views of the countryside and Ruskins view. The location is great, an easy walk into town. Overall a great few days away and we would love to return.

Just had a fantastic stay on a top quality site. The campsite is to a high standard, well maintained and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The utility area (washrooms, showers, laundry, toilets) were exceptional. The tourist area was comprehensive and very useful. Site staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I will definately return for another visit and would highly recommend others.

We recently stayed for five nights and had a lovely time. The site was well maintained, excellent facilities and the individual wetrooms were fab! The site managers were very friendly and extremely helpful. Location is ideal, near the river with nice walks ending up at 'Ruskin's view' and what a view it is! Kirkby Lonsdale is a cracking little place and eating choice was extensive. Orange Tree well worth a visit, good food, child friendly and a selection of their own brewed beer. A visit to the field behind the site to see Bongo the boisterous alpaca is recommended but not for the faint hearted!

Thoroughly enjoyed my wigwam weekend. I arrived quite late on the Friday evening but it was no trouble. The wigwam warmed up really quickly and was lovely and cosy. I recommend getting a fire pit. It kept us warm outside and the logs burned for hours - great value. The shower/toilet facilities were brilliant: we were never kept waiting, everything was kept clean and the water was hot. Not far to walk either. The alpacas are really sweet! Kirkby Lonsdale is a very attractive place to visit and the walk along the river was picturesque. All the shops we went into were dog-friendly. Had a delicious meal in the Bakery tearooms/restaurant (minus the dog) sitting in front of a roaring fire. Sigh. A peaceful, relaxing weekend. Can't wait to come back.

We enjoyed out stay in wigwam number 5 even in with poor weather. The wigwam was clean and the heating is excellent. Its very cozy and the toilet block, which is immaculate, is very close. Showers and wash-room are also close. We can highly reccomend walking into Kirkby Lonsdale via the shortcut (ask reception) across the nice bridge, take a torch if going at night. The Snooty Fox is an excellent pub, very dog and human friendly, good food, beer and live music on certain days. There is wifi available over the site so we took a laptop to watch TV. The whole trip was great, nice walks, friendly people and cozy surroundings.

Absolutely fabulous holiday. We stayed in one of the Wigwams and it was a wonderful experience. The wigwam was cosy and warm, the facilities were within easy walking distance and lovely and clean. We hired a chiminea so we could sit outside in the evening which we thoroughly enjoyed. We've booked again for next year and hope to visit many more times in the future.

We have just arrived back from Woodclose after a lovely week away at the touring site. We were first greeted by a very warm welcome from Lisa who was very helpful and knowledgeable of all things in and around woodclose.The site itself is so clean and well layed out. The shower and toilet blocks are large and very clean and shower blocks all have toilets and sinks in them. Woodclose is quiet central to visit the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales ,and Kirkby Lonsdale is a Lovely village with lots of lovely dog walks. We shall definately be returning to Woodclose in the near future. Michelle

Unit: Touring Caravan We've been to this site camping before but this was the first time in our caravan and as usual there were no problem's with the site or it's facilities. It's a short walk into the town itself so you can forget about the car if you don't mind walking, some good pub's in town serving decent food / ale and good shop's if you want to shop locally. Will definitely go back to this site again as we have been doing for about 5 year's now.

Been visiting this site for about three years. Love the toilets/showers but despite other reviews I feel that they need a deep clean. (sorry). Brilliant location for exploring the surrounding areas. Town is only about a 15 minute walk away and is the dog-friendliest place on earth. The Lunesdale Bakery does a mean breakfast, the bacon is ace. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, both on-site and in the town. Don't be afraid of the bikers they are really great, friendly people, we befriended some of them and swapped phone numbers. We WILL return again and again and again and again,etc, etc. Brilliant. SITE REPLY - we very much appreciate your feed back, after a very busy season the site facilities are looking very tired and we have plans over the closed season to do a lot of work to get them back on top form. Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you 2012 season

~Touring Caravan We have just spent a week at Woodclose Caravan Park. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The touring field was a small site to what we are used to but it had a nice feel to the site which made you feel you would like to return. It had a lovely dog walk close by and a nice walk to Higher Casterton from the site. The town was walking distance from the site either by footpath or the lovely river walk. It was easily accessible to the Dales and Lake District. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Toilets were unisex not what we have been used to but were very clean and adequate. We thoroughly enjoyed the showers being very large along with toilet and washbasin and would be very useful for families that might like to have their young children in with them along with heated radiators for the time of year. Small children's play area and the shop on site was well stocked. We will definitely be returning soon.

This is one of the best sites we have ever been to. We discovered it a few years ago when we were tenters. We are now caravanners and have just returned from our 2nd visit in the caravan. The whole site is spotless and the large shower rooms are excellent. The camping field looks even better than it did when we stayed, made us miss the tent! Cannot fault the surroundings, the staff just everything about it. Cant wait to return. Thank you for such a gem!
