Frequently Asked Questions

We have collated a comprehensive list of questions that we are asked. If we have made any omissions and you wish to add to this list, or if you would like to find out more about our services, contact us for more details.

Booking (9)

Do you accept dogs?

Yes - Dogs are welcome on site but kept on lead and not exercised on the Park.

Do you accept folding campers and trailer tents?

Yes we do please state at time of booking.

Do you allow BBQs?

Yes we do subject to site terms.

Do you have a club house?

No

Is Kirkby Lonsdale within walking distance?

Yes between 10-15 minutes on a good but steep foot path, torches may be required.

Is there fishing nearby?

Yes but you need to purchase a rod and fishing license available at the local tourist information centre.

What time are we allowed in the Wigwams?

Anytime after 14.30hrs and if arrival is going to be after 18.00hrs then just ring the site on arrival day to let us know

What time can I arrive with my touring unit?

Anytime after 1300hrs, please note that we have limited parking available for early arrivals and that the entrance to Woodclose is quite narrow so we like to stagger the departures and arrivals. If you do arrive early there is free parking down at the Devils Bridge.

Who do I make my cheque payable to?

Cheques should be payable to Lake District Estates Ltd

Do you take card payment?

Yes but please note that there is a 1.5% charge on credit cards (no charge for debit).

Do you take group Bookings?

If you wish to make a booking for a family group then you will need to discuss this with us. The site rules are minimum noise after 10.30pm and no noise after 11pm and if this is not acceptable to you then this may not be the park for you.

What are the minimum bookings allowed?

Weekend bookings must be 2 nights either Friday & Saturday OR Saturday & Sunday with no special offer applicable for the Sunday. A Bank holiday weekend must be 3 nights unless Easter and then must be 4 nights (all applicable unless long bookings allow otherwise - check availability)

Camping (5)

Can I book camping on-line?

No, Camping is limited on Woodclose and if you wish to make a booking please either email or telephone to enquire.

Can I park next to my tent pitch?

No you have to park in the car park, approx. 100 yards away depending on where you are camping. A trolley can be provided for equipment if required.

Can tents be pitched beside caravans?

No, due to our site licence the tents must pe sited in a seperate area approximately 150 yards form the touring area.

Do you allow tents to have a fire pit?

No for health and safety only the wigwam area may hire the fire pits.

Do your tent pitches have electric hook-up?

We do have some please ask when booking.

Touring (2)

Can I chose my own pitch?

We do our very best to accomodate choice however we may from time to time have to change pitches and so we cannot guarantee.

What is the maximum pitch available?

We have pitches up to 30ft but limited. Please state when booking.

Wigwams (4)

Can I choose my own Wigwam?

We do our best to accommodate choice however we cannot guarantee.

Can I hire crockery for the wigwams?

Yes charge is £2.50 per night (£10 for 7 night booking) this includes plates, mugs, bowls, knives, forks, spoons, collander, tea towel, chopping board, spatula, J cloth, scissors, cutlery tray, serving spoon, draining spoon.

Can I park my car next to my Wigwam?

No,we like to keep the Wigwam area car free. We provide a car park which is approximately 50yards away from your wigwam. We can also provide a trolley for your equipment if required.

What time do you have to leave the wigwam?

Before 10.30hrs
